John has a business model that works. He has one group that sells your home. That’s all they do. And he has another group that helps you locate and purchase your next home. That’s all they do. John and his team are the best in the business. IF I ever move again, I will not call anyone else.
Fortunately, I decided to research another firm and came across John Quinn and his team at RE/Max. I was frustrated, because the property was sitting empty and, as one knows, time is money and I had lost the month and a half to a Realtor that obviously didn’t feel there was enough commission to bother with investing anything but the shortest amount of his time. I shared by concerns with John and he assured me he would take care of my property and my concerns. To make a long story short, I got a bid from his contractor and a recommended carpet installer from that same contractor in two days. A week and a half later all the work was done, including the whole house being painted, upgraded carpet and 8, instead of 6, pound padding. Plus, I was able to deal with John Quinn’s contractor directly. The total price of the work was $3,217.00. That was less than half the price of the KW husband and wife team’s contractor, who I think was a friend of theirs. Anyway, the house was not put on the market until all work had been done and John Quinn had us an offer the same day it was listed, and for more than we were asking.
I originally went to Keller Williams (KW) to sell my home near Memphis. I live in Idaho and needed to sell the home. I could not fly out and needed thousands of dollars worth of deferred maintenance done on the inside of the home, including general repairs, paint and carpeting. I contacted this high profile husband and wife team at KW who had a month and a half to prepare their two recommended contractors to come out and bid on the work. I got one vague bid from one contractor that was $6,600.00, including $2,800.00 to partially paint 3 rooms and touch up baseboards in one bathroom.
I questioned the Realtor on the price gauging and he agreed that it was too high, so his solution was to raise the selling price of the house. I suggested he ask the contractor to reduce the bid $1,500.00; to $6,100.00 or get another bid from the other contractor he had mentioned. Not only had the month and a half now been lost, he refused to tender my suggestion to the contractor. BTW, I was also required to go through this Realtor to deal with the contractor and the contractor had stated that he would either do all the work of none of it; not just painting - for example. The Realtor stated that everyone was now so busy and it would be very difficult to find another contractor, implying I take this contractor and live with it.
So in 2017, when we outgrew that home I never hesitated. John was the first and only call I made. We joked with him on that call that he had a record of 5 days and full asking price to beat. He did it. Granted the market was way better, but he sold the home in 4 days for more than we were asking.

Because of John and his awesome team, we closed with the cash buyer about three weeks after my first contact with John; that is incredible. Doing business out of state and having to rely on and trust someone can be very frustrating. John and his team made me feel as though I was their only client. What made it even nicer is that this home was/is a small 2 bedroom, and ½ of a duplex. And, because this is a beautiful, yet humbler home it had a humbler price, ergo it came with a humble commission. Including John, I had 5 of his team members involved with my property, ensuring I was ALWAYS informed of anything going on. And those were just the team members I had phone contact with. I highly recommend RE/Max and in particular John Quinn and Associates. FYI, John Quinn even has a home purchase guarantee, in case you worry about being stuck with something that doesn’t sell. In other words, unlike the first Realtor who wanted to jack up the price of my house, you will get an honest market analyses of what a property is worth, whether buying or selling. John Quinn and his team don’t earn your business, especially as a seller, by giving you false expectations by pricing your home for more than it is worth and letting it sit on the market and having his sign stuck on your lawn for months of advertising. No, John earns his reputation by being honest, tenacious and quickly removing obstacles that delay a smooth and timely transaction. Thank you, John Quinn and Team for your outstanding service.

John is REALLY good at selling houses. He sold our first home in Cordova, TN in 2012 in 5 days for full asking price. I interviewed 5 separate Realtors before choosing John. After the sale, he patiently carried us all over Shelby County on three separate occasions looking for houses. He never complained, he never got snarky and he never rushed us. Each time I called and gave him a rather long list of houses we wanted to view, he made it happen fast. Finally, we settled on a home in Collierville.
As a peer, I find John to be very creative in his real estate business. He is a business person through and through, I have known him since I got in real estate 17 years ago. I consider him a friend. Ironically, all these years he has never sold one of my listings but I'm sure he will soon. :-)
