I met Dr. Ognibene only once. Was a former patient of Dr. Song. Unfortunately, they DO NOT deal with open diabetic ulcers or immune system diseases very well. After 6 months and no end in sight other than a suggestion of surgery (bad idea for diabetic patients plus compound that with systemic scleroderma), I chose to go to a wound care therapy unit. There the wound was treated and closed up and I wasted no more time throwing popcorn at a battleship. We (my wife and I) were taught how to treat the wound (change bandages,etc.) daily. I'm sure they are wonderful podiatrist but, never take an open wound to them for treatment prior to your normal foot care needs. They are reluctant to address that medical issue and will not refer you to a care unit that can treat you. The wound care unit is located on the first floor of the same building in Germantown.
